5 tips to optimize your LinkedIn profile

2- How to contact a recruiter on LinkedIn?

There are several possible ways, depending on the situation:

In response to an offer

Before contacting the recruiter, read the ad carefully to make sure your profile matches (salary, location, requirements, experience, etc.). If necessary, send a message (preferably an Inmail) and don’t forget to attach your CV. In your message, prefer sobriety and friendliness and demonstrate that you have read the advert well.

Attention: do not forget to apply officially via the link in the advertisement , so that your profile is registered in the recruiting company’s database.

In response to a recruiter contacting you

There are two possibilities:

  1. Are you interested in the job offer? Respond by adapting to the way the recruiter approaches you . If the recruiter leaves you his contact details, rather than replying via LinkedIn, prefer the email address and don’t forget to leave your number and propose a time slot for the interviews to be quicker in the process.
  2. Not interested? Reply anyway! Thank them for the offer and tell them what you are looking for. They may offer you other positions that are more in line with your expectations.

3- How to develop your network on LinkedIn?

First of all, you need to know that your network won’t necessarily be looked at by recruiters , except for some positions where networking is important. On the other hand, the broader your network, the more likely you are to be seen by recruiters, and the more likely you are to see opportunities too (a lead from a lead sharing an offer, etc.).

Is it necessary to add everyone to LinkedIn? The answer is no. Add only strategic people for your career:

4- How to be visible to recruiters on LinkedIn?

To be visible, you have to think about interactions! Comment and like posts about your business or favorite topics so your name appears regularly. This will allow you to be identified as an expert in your subject by potential recruiters or people in your target sector. Furthermore, the more you interact, the more visibility the LinkedIn algorithm will give you.
