(LaPresse) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during his visit to Sweden where he met Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, underlined the importance of providing Ukraine with modern aircraft: “We do not have air superiority and we do not have modern aircraft Actually, Swedish Gripen is your country’s pride, and I think the prime minister could share that pride with Ukraine,” Zelensky said, adding that “appropriate action” would be taken in the coming weeks to “open the possibility of obtaining the appropriate planes”.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian president has flown to Sweden by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson who in a press conference spoke of “enormous sacrifice on the part of the people of Kiev”, expressing support and promising aid. “On a foreign policy level, no goal is more important to my government than support for Ukraine’s defense,” he said.

And Zelenskyy, referring to the “package” of aid from Stockholm said: “Our soldiers really pay tribute to the Swedish-made CV-90 combat vehicles”, announcing that their production is also planned in Ukraine.
