We are looking for a talented Gaeilge Linguist to join our team in a multifaceted role that
combines translation and editing tasks based on our current workload. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about linguistic precision and can deliver high-quality content in both English and Gaelic. Depending on the linguist’s qualifications, the salary will be determined.
Job Title: Gaeilge Linguist (EN<>GA)
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Limerick/Cork Office or Remote
Key Responsibilities:
● Translate documents, texts, and content from English to Gaeilge and vice versa.
● Starting daily translation capacity of 2,000-2,500 words.
● Execute Linguistic Quality Assessments
● Edit and proofread translated content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guides.
● Collaborate with the team to maintain linguistic and terminological consistency in translations.
● Conduct research when necessary to ensure the correct usage of language and terminology.
Skills and Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics.
● 3+ years of professional experience in translation and editing.
● Proficiency in both English and Gaeilge.
● Strong knowledge of Gaeilge language rules, structure, and grammar.
● Familiarity with translation tools and software.
● Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering error-free translations.
● Ability to meet tight deadlines and work efficiently.
● Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
● Knowledge of industry-specific terminology and jargon (an asset).
