The Growth Innovation and Strategy (GIS) organization in the Strategic Missions and Technologies (SMT) division is chartered with identifying new categories of innovation to bring to market that will fuel the future of the cloud, and US Federal government missions, spanning Quantum, 5G, Space and more. As a member of the Audience Activation team in GIS, you will join a talented and creative team responsible for developing and operationalizing audience engagement programs that enable customer and partner success in the adoption of new technologies.

The Audience Activation team has high visibility, and the flexibility to ideate on the “what” and “how” that will drive the highest impact. The team is very much in startup mode, lots of writing on blank sheets of paper, a team with no boundaries and extremely collaborative. In this role, as a Marketing Communications Director, you will lead the operationalization of customer and partner co-innovation programs, partnering with engineering, marketing and sales to ensure excellence in the customer journey, and high business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across multiple teams to develop an understanding and framework of target customers, personas, and messaging that will resonate with target audiences
  • Land programs to engage enterprise and government customers and partners; collaborate with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to deliver compelling programs and messaging that drives customer adoption of new technologies and solutions
  • Execute “last mile” programs to move customers towards adoption and consumption for target solutions and technologies
  • Understand and measure impact; use insights and learnings to adjust and improve programs

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 5+ years marketing management, relationship marketing, event management, marketing strategy, business planning, customer and partner engagement, or related work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Qualifications

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local [or applicable country] government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 7+ years marketing management, relationship marketing, event management, marketing strategy, business planning, customer and partner engagement, or related work experience
    • OR Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years marketing management, relationship marketing, event management, marketing strategy, business planning, customer and partner engagement, or related work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Leadership and Executive Presence: Ability to lead cross-functional v-teams, and communicate to sales and marketing leaders within Microsoft.
  • Executive engagement: Experience working with executives and their teams on their customer engagement programs
  • Customer and partner engagement: Experience in working with enterprise and government decision makers, marketing to c-level audiences, and interfacing with sales leaders and their teams
  • Data-driven marketing: Using quantitative and qualitative insights to learn and to make design and investment decisions

Integrated Marketing IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 – $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 – $264,000 per year.
