The Department of Marketing in the Griffith Business School is a world and nationally recognised leader in marketing research, including several areas of expertise such as consumer behaviour, digital marketing, branding, and social marketing. We are seeking to appoint two Senior Lecturer’s with outstanding academic achievement, communication, and leadership skills to contribute to the overall culture of excellence in research, learning and teaching, and engagement within the Department.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will be responsible to undertake high quality research, contribute to the design of curriculum and delivery of teaching in the area of Marketing and actively and effectively supervise honours, post-graduate and PhD candidatures.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching across the spectrum of the University’s undergraduate, postgraduate and professional program suite facilitating high quality, student-centred learning activities consistent with Griffith Graduates of the Future strategy.
  • Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection informed by a range of evaluation approaches.
  • Provide educational leadership to a discipline including responsibility for academic courses and programs.
  • Contribute to the advancement of knowledge through a balanced research portfolio of high-quality outputs that demonstrate impact.
  • Undertake high quality research that may have measurable impact on policy and practice in the wider community and attract and generate competitive research funding.
  • Provide academic leadership ensuring consistently high-quality experiences and outcomes are achieved for higher degree research (HDR) candidates.
  • Develop meaningful and impactful partnerships with the broader community, by actively engaging and collaborating with external stakeholders.

These are full time, continuing positions based at the Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Additional Information

About you:

The successful candidate will possess a PhD in Marketing or other relevant discipline. Research experience on online privacy and AI, which would be highly advantageous. You will have an excellent record of publications that will ensure that Griffith continues our outstanding achievements in research.

In addition to the above, you will demonstrate:

  • Ability to network effectively to ensure that working relationships are improved both internally and with government, industry, and community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and leadership in teaching and curriculum / program development at the tertiary education level, and a proven ability in the administration of university courses and programs.
  • Excellent communicator, with effective communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to working in a collegial manner, contributing to a positive culture and the aspiration of the Department and the University.

Salary Range:

The full-time base salary for a Senior Lecturer (Level C) position is in the range $128,802 – $148,520 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total FTE package is in the range $150,698 – $173,768 per annum.
